ALUMNI TESTIMONIALS

Daniel Maia

Class of 2018

“Studying in EAR was a life-changing opportunity I had and one which I couldn’t imagine living without. The school not only taught me how to face challenges, but it prepared me to seek academic excel¬lence. From now on I will be far away from school and most teachers, but all of their efforts will certainly remain as part of me, of my achievements and my contribution to the world. Thank you EAR.”

“Academically speaking, EAR has provided me with knowledge that will suit as guidance for the rest of my life. Here, I have learned to rise from my mistakes, to refine my qualities, and most importantly, grow as a human being. Now I feel ready to take on the next step. On top of all, I want to thank my parents for all they have done for me, for giving me the opportunity to have this education.”

Class of 2018

Here, I faced my greatest challenges but at the same time I saw many of my dreams come true. I am so grateful for the opportunities that I encountered, and I could never thank my teachers enough for challenging, encouraging and always believing in me; you all changed my life. I will never forget every single person that was with me in this crazy journey called life, and though I will miss it greatly, I am excited to see what the future holds for me.

Class of 2018

The person I am today is made by the things I learned and experiences I lived at this amazing school. The American School of Recife will always be part of my life, and I hope that my friends will always keep in touch. Even though each one of us is going to a different part of the world, I hope we can still maintain the Eagle spirit and remember the memories that we had in EAR. Those will be the best memories for me.

Julia Bandeira de Melo

Class of 2018

I've studied in American school of Recife for 9 years and I cannot deny that this is my second home where I had the best experiences of my life. Here I didn’t just learn academic stuff; I learned how to be prepared and how to deal with life, always being who I really am and being respected by everyone. My second home had not only people like me, but people from all over the world, with different cultures, manners and beliefs. The challenge to live with those differences was incredible for me to grow, to learn and to be prepared for what the world will offer.

Class of 2018

“Today, I understand how valuable the things I have learned are. The American School of Recife is the best example of how education should not be focused on science and math but teach about life, about the future. I’m so grateful for having the opportunity of participating in clubs and events about ecology, international relations, robotics, and business because those were fundamental in shaping who I am today and giving me a sense of self-knowledge, open-mindedness and confidence. I hope to win the world, but I will never forget my roots at EAR and the invaluable lessons I learned here.”

“As a newcomer to EAR, I was unsure about the culture and atmosphere while also being hesitant about leaving my old home and having to create new relationships. I can honestly say that EAR has been an amazing experience, and that I am grateful to have had the opportunity to spend a year here. At EAR I have become a deeper thinker, a better problem solver and more rounded individual. I would like to thank the entire staff at EAR for the committed and hard work to teach us everyday, I would also like to thank the members of my class for embracing me and making me feel welcome, and lastly I would like to thank my parents for their support, help, and motivation throughout the many years of school. I’m honored to be in the Class of 2018 and to be an Eagle forever!”

Class of 2017

I believe the most important lesson EAR has taught me is that there are two sides to change. The nostalgic side that reminds you of how blessed your life has been and the opportunity side that allows you to experience more than ever before. Moving to Brazil was no easy feat, but it has shaped my life for the better and will forever remain in my heart.

EAR provides an enriched opportunity that enables every student to perform its best in any occasion. Through clubs activities, I encountered spectacular events while participating in national tournaments and international conferences abroad. Studying and interacting with people from different nationalities also enabled me to gain an international perspective. With the diverse opportunities cosmopolitan environment, EAR certainly helped me mature personally, socially and academically.
